Kettle Moraine Symphony to honor veterans

WEST BEND - The Kettle Moraine Symphony will include a special “Salute to Veterans” on Nov. 13 during the upcoming concert season.

“We’re excited about this new feature of the Kettle Moraine Symphony season – it’s a first for the community,” said Mary Beth Winkowski, president of the board of directors for the KMS.

The concert will feature music that has inspired pride, courage and remembrance.

“We have the unique ability to honor a large number of veterans, as well as families that have children or spouses serving actively right now,” said Allison Schweitzer, executive director of the KMS.

Schweitzer noted that Washington County has a growing reputation for being “beautifully patriotic” and the Symphony decided it was time to pay tribute.

“Many organizations can honor veterans in various ways; not many can do so with live music provided by a local, semi-professional symphony orchestra,” she said.
