Kohl’s Department Stores opens nine new stores

MENOMONEE FALLS (WITI) — Kohl’s Department Stores opened nine new stores across the country on Wednesday, March 6th.

The new stores are creating roughly 950 jobs — and bring the company’s store count to 1,155 stores across 49 states.

Locations opening today include Decatur, Ala., Danville, Ill., Ames, Iowa, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Minot, N.D., Sherwood, Ore., Hermitage, Pa., Spring Township, Pa. and Denton, Texas.

Toppers Pizza is Coming to Menomonee Falls

For months, the corner of Main Street and Pilgrim Road was nothing more than a mud pit. Today, the steel beams are rising on the “landmark” corner building, and Toppers Pizza will be the building’s first tenant.

Toppers Pizza will occupy a 2,800-sqaure-foot space in the two-tenant building, according to CBRE Vice President Andrew Stefanich. CBRE is a commercial real estate company.

Kohl’s Department Stores donates $1 million to Red Cross

MENOMONEE FALLS — Kohl’s Department Stores announced on Thursday, November 1st that it is donating $1 million to the American Red Cross. The money is intended to aid the relief efforts along the East Coast where Hurricane Sandy left a wide swath of damage.

In addition to a financial contribution, Kohl’s is encouraging its associates to volunteer in support of cleanup efforts through its Associates in Action volunteer program. In recognition of volunteer hours, Kohl’s will donate additional corporate grants to the nonprofit organizations being supported by Kohl’s associates.

Kohl’s opening 12 new stores, creating 1,500 jobs nationwide

MENOMONEE FALLS — Kohl’s Department Stores is opening 12 new stories which will create roughly 1,500 jobs nationwide. 

The 12 new stores are opening in 10 states, including Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington.

Kohl’s is also investing in its existing store base by remodeling approximately 50 stores this year. Over the last six years, more than half of Kohl’s store base has been remodeled or newly built.

Kohl’s now operates 1,146 stores in 49 states.

In business news for Tuesday, September 5th, 2012 — Thursday night (September 6th) is a big night for retail. It’s the first official Fashion’s Night Out in Milwaukee from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. 30 boutiques and salons in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward and downtown Milwaukee are hosting the free event.

Kohl’s is expanding its electric vehicle charging station initiative with 18 more locations this fall. That includes locations at Bayshore Town Center, one at the company headquarters in Menomonee Falls and two at its Falls credit center.

In business news for Wednesday, August 15th, 2012 — Menomonee Falls manufacturer Innoware Paper Company is moving its operations to Clintonville, Wisconsin next spring. The closure and move will put 100 people out of work.

Additionally, Summerfest’s Rock ‘n Sole race is set for next year. The third annual event will be held Saturday, June 15th to kick off the 2013 Big Gig.
